You know, I’ve been thinking about this concept for a long time. And as I think back about how long I’ve been pondering this, I’m reminded that most things emerge as they should in the most appropriate time frame. How do I know this? Well, if you listen to Guitar Business Radio and you make it to the end of the show, you will always hear me sign off with the same message:
Stay positive… stay focused on the destination… but keep all your options open on how you’re going to get there.
So, how does that apply here? Simple. When you move in the direction of your destination (vision, goals, objectives, etc.) and you don’t set rigid and narrow expectations of how you’ll get there (most people do that), you open up a wider window to all the possible pathways. There is usually more than one. But it’s a learned practice, believe me.
Part of the process is learning to watch and listen carefully as you travel toward the destination. It’s vitally important to stay peaceful and not become impatient Eventually, you’ll start to see the clues and then the options (or opportunities, solutions, etc.) begin to show up. The more this happens, the more confident you’ll become that this is a better way to do things.
Caution: There is no quick and easy fix. And there’s a lot more to it. But that’s how I operate, both in my business and my personal life in general. And so the timing of The Guitar Business Store was a byproduct of that kind of thinking. It showed up at exactly the right time… as far as I can tell.
